Mount
Gambier Bowls Club is the oldest regional club in South
Australia, celebrating it's 100th year in 2004. The club was the first
in South Australia to offer a Greengage synthetic carpet green which
has significantly boosted the club's members ability to play bowls
despite most weather conditions. The green has a regular pace of
fifteen seconds and has an accurate flatness throughout. The club has
three greens - one grass and two synthetic, the two
synthetic greens have lighting
providing for night bowls.
The club offers night bowls to non members on
Thursday evenings, with triples before Xmas and fours after Xmas. We
also cater for corporate social clubs and casual hire.
Social
Bowls are available to members of other clubs travelling
through our lovely region or to non members who want to try bowls on
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
Our
bar and kitchen facilities are modern and can cater for up
to 200 people. The main hall can be divided to cater for large and
small functions with maximum seating capacity of 200.
Indoor
bowls and cards are played in the winter and non members
are welcome to join these activities.
